Hi. My name is Igor Sorokin.

My first introduction to the world of creativity happened during my school years. When I was about 10 years old, I got my hands on my first camera, which I didn’t part with for many years. It was a simple 35mm camera, the kind you usually take with you on a tourist trip to the seaside.

My family and I lived in a small provincial town where everyone knew each other by name. I photographed various things that surrounded me, including my family and complete strangers. That’s how I explored and discovered the world. It was the embodiment of freedom for me.

During my college years, I had to put my camera aside for a few years, but my longing for beauty still prevailed. Somewhere around my third year, I started working as a wedding photographer and earned my first money. At that time, the money I earned became another important revelation and embodiment of freedom in my life. I started traveling more and discovering new places.

Igor Sorokin. About.

In addition to photographing numerous weddings, love stories, and portraits, I have always made sure to set aside time for creativity. I have experimented with various techniques and materials, resulting in some rather unusual creations.

Igor Sorokin. About.

A particular mention goes to my love for collage techniques. I have tried to blend completely different objects together, and I especially enjoy contrasting images.

Gradually, my focus shifted towards microstocks. I was deeply intrigued by the idea of democratizing the commercial photography market, but at the same time, I was also scared because these websites offered to sell photos for very low prices.

I decided to take a risk and started doing microstocks full-time. Alongside photography, I also started learning vector graphics and attempted to create simple illustrations to sell through microstocks in the future. I was overjoyed when I received my first royalties. Someone liked my work! I thought to myself. It was exhilarating.

Igor Sorokin. About.

I have dedicated a total of 13 years of my life to microstocks, and I continue to collaborate with them to this day.

In 2020, my attention was drawn to the world of NFTs. I like this technology and the idea behind it. The attempts to democratize the world of collecting that we are witnessing right now deserve special attention and respect.

I closely follow the developments in the NFT space and, whenever I have free time, I try to create my own collections and digital artworks.

Three years have passed since 2020. Finally, the gigantic wave of hype has subsided, which dominated the community and hindered ordinary artists from creating their works thoughtfully. Now, we are facing a completely different landscape that allows for unhurried creativity and enjoying the moment of growth, with various authors and communities coming together around their art.
